In 2015 the Lord showed us a transition that the ministry was headed into, the beginning steps into a greater purpose than what we had been walking in.  With the transition came a new, more specific and prophetic identity. The Lord showed us a raven on a branch holding a red remnant of ribbon, and confirmed that this would represent Turning Point Ministries.  

At first we hesitated in moving forward with this image.  In our modern American culture, the raven is typically seen symbolically as an ominous or malevolent creature. However in the Scriptures this is certainly not so.

 

Why the raven?

 

In the forefront of the vision at Turning Point Ministries is the call to prepare the way for the Holy Spirit.  The raven was the first bird to be sent out by Noah on the ark, the dove was the second (Genesis 8:6-12).  The raven, known to be a carrion bird, searched the mountaintops for what remained of creatures destroyed in the flood.  The dove sought the fresh vegetation in the lower regions as it sprung back to life. The raven represents the confrontation of death and the subsequent disposal of corruption.  The dove represents the Holy Spirit reigning in the garden which flourishes again with dead things taken away (Gen. 2:15, 1 Cor. 3:9).  We yield to His leading and clear the way for Him to move and work by revelation, education, and restoration. Through the teaching of the Word of God and discipleship, we are tearing down the dead things that man has built and succumbed to so that the Lord can build His house again, individually and corporately (Psalm 127:1).

 

Another facet in the vision that God has given us for the ministry is the commission to feed the people of God by the Word of God in a time of refuge.  When He showed us the image of the raven on the branch, the Lord said, “You feed and strengthen the prophets.”  This is a direct reference to the ravens that fed the prophet Elijah meat and bread at the brook where the Lord had led him when he was in exile during a drought (1 Kings 17:2-6). For those in a time of drought of God’s power and presence, our ministry is a safe place to drink of Living Waters and be refreshed by the Holy Spirit as Elijah was refreshed by the brook. In this place of restoration, we feed and strengthen the ministers of the Kingdom by the meat of the Word - past the elementary doctrines, as well as by the bread of the Word with the Holy Spirit confirming the teaching with signs and wonders (Mark 7:27, Hebrews 5:12). 

 

Thirdly, Turning Point Ministries has an assignment to provide a spiritual covering over God’s people as the Lord builds their ministries for their call and purpose. Elijah was covered and protected as the ravens fed him in the secret place. It is imperative that as God builds up your ministry you are covered, fed, and safeguarded.

 

The number one way that we clear the way for the Holy Spirit while feeding, covering, and safeguarding the ministers of God as their callings are drawn out, is through our ministry school - the School of Moses. The branch that the raven is resting upon is a nod to the School of Moses (represented by the wooden staff of Moses in the school’s logo). Moses led the children of Israel out of the bondage of Egypt.  The name Moses means “to draw out”. We believe that Egypt (also representative of the world’s system – man’s method) has crept into the Church. It is time for us to be drawn out from that bondage and into our individual and corporate God-given callings and destiny. It is through the School of Moses that you can be eligible to be covered in the wilderness, your personal transition from Egypt (the chains and dead things in your life) into your promised land.

 

Turning Point Ministries is called to the forerunners in the Body of Christ. Those who sense the change coming, those who see revival on the horizon. Believers full of the fire of God that are ready to make a difference. The remnant of ribbon in the mouth of the raven is a representation of the remnant of people that God is drawing out and restoring in and to the true Body of Christ. Just as the remnant of people that God had reserved in the time of Elijah, these have not bowed their hearts to Baal, the world’s system (Romans 11:2-5). These are the people who have been reserved for this pivotal and exciting time in history!
